The Alamo Church and Long Barrack

Our firm was contracted by the Texas General Land Office to produce two of the most comprehensive Historic Structure Reports ever commissioned in the State of Texas, one for The Alamo Church and the other for The Alamo Long Barrack. This project required extensive nationwide historical research, analysis of challenging masonry issues, structural assessments, site drainage recommendations, and non-destructive testing. The reports also included an evaluation of previous conservation efforts, recommendations for a monitoring assessment program, and project cost estimating for restoration funding.

The project required an accelerated schedule, significant stakeholder engagement, and the management of a large team of multidisciplinary consultants and their associated scopes of work. Our services also included the creation of an immense database that inventoried the extensive resources of historic photographs, artwork, and digital images used for researching the site’s history.
